Careers
All pupils at Cloughwood Academy access a highly effective careers programme that supports them in making informed, realistic and intelligent decisions about the next stage of their education, training or employment.
Pupils follow a Careers Journey; this tells them the range of support and careers-based activities and experiences they will have the opportunity to access throughout their time here.
Careers education and guidance programmes make a major contribution to preparing young people for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
A planned progressive programme of activities supports them in choosing KS4 & KS5 pathways that suit their interests and abilities and helps them to follow a career path and sustain employability throughout their working lives.
Students use Unifrog to track all career activities and monitor experiences in the workplace. A students’ platform is available for them until they leave Cloughwood.
Unifrog aims to support progression through the GCSE, post 16 and post 18 pathways. It also provides labour market information and links this to academic subject areas. Information on a wide range of universities, apprenticeships and careers can be accessed through a variety of tools.
Unifrog is incorporated into our PSHRE lessons and can also be accessed by students in their own time for researching options for further education and careers. Skills and activities can be recorded in student profiles to help with UCAS or other applications and aid CV writing. School career activities and discussions with our career teachers are also recorded on the students’ profiles.
Access to students' Unifrog accounts can be found here: www.unifrog.org
