About Us
Cloughwood Academy is an outstanding specialist day and residential school for boys aged 8 to 18. Our school is situated in a beautiful setting in Hartford, Cheshire and serves families from all areas of Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East, as well as other nearby counties.
We cater for pupils with a diagnosis of Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). More often than not, our pupils have other co-morbid conditions, increasing their complexity of needs.
Cloughwood converted to an academy in September 2013 as a single academy in a multi-academy trust (MAT). In September 2016, Cloughwood became the founding academy of Kaleidoscope Learning Trust (KLT) and has continued to go from strength to strength, enjoying 3 consecutive 'Outstanding' judgements from Ofsted. The residential provision is also rated as Ofsted 'Outstanding'.
Pupils study a wide range of national curriculum subjects whilst also having many learning opportunities outside the classroom. The achievement of our pupils is improving year-on-year and all pupils are expected to participate and succeed in their GCSE's before moving on to college or the workplace.
Cloughwood Academy has a team of committed, dedicated and hard-working staff who strive to maximise the learning potential of all our pupils. We are a safe school, and we take care to safeguard the health, safety and well-being of everybody who studies and works here.
